TDC sponsors an annual Doll Show and Sale. The club makes donations to local children’s charities from the proceeds of the Fund Raiser (UFDC Helper) Tables. (See Jordan Thomas Foundation below).
We’re all very excited this year, because we made some very big changes last year and they worked very well, and now we’ve made some more.
Late summer proved to be a great time for our event, so we are sticking with it: Saturday, August 16th, 2008, as did our new location: the Historic Huntsville Depot Roundhouse (click here for directions). Our Show Time is 10 am until 4 pm.
This location has FREE PARKING (click here to see the parking lot and get directions)!! And this year’s big change is that we’ve rearranged the layout and so will be having 20 MORE vendor tables.
The featured Star of this year’s Fund Raiser Table is again Ann Estelle, by the Robert Tonner Company, but this year’s Anne Estelle will have some very different goodies.
The Basic (Articulated Knee) Ann Estelle will again be accompanied by a trunk, but this year’s trunk (with something very wonderful painted inside the cover by super talented doll artist and club member Vicki Kendall, will be filled with a wardrobe of clothing and accessories from her voyages around the world through the ages. Click here to view images of Ann Estelle and her friends modeling some of the wonderful outfits included in this year’s trunk.
Click here to see a photograph of Riley and some of the goodies included with her at the 2006 Helper Table and click the link at the bottom of the Riley page to see images from the 2007 Ann Estelle Trunk and the 2007 Michael Trunk.
Every year, we make a donation from the show profit to children’s charities. Our beneficiary for 2008 is the Jordan Thomas Foundation. The organization provides prosthetic devices for children who have suffered traumatic injury and cannot afford the high cost of these devices and rehabilitation. The Foundation makes a lifelong commitment to the child recipient to provide replacement prosthetics as the old ones are outgrown. Its founder is a remarkable teenager,
